Bigger, Bolder, Louder, Prouder: Leeds Pride Returns for 2024

Make Sunday the 21st of July the date for your summer social calendar because Leeds Pride is coming back. Last year saw the biggest-ever parade with over 167 businesses in attendance throughout the day. Organisers promise the 2024 event is going to be the biggest, boldest, and brightest Pride to date.

Leeds Pride is one of the largest one-day festivals in Yorkshire and a major contributor to the local economy with a footfall of over 60,000 choosing to visit last year. The event will once again be free to attend and has seen numbers grow year on year, with more allies than ever before heading into the city to let their hair down and show their support.

As in previous years, Lower Briggate will host the main stage, whilst the legendary parade stage will remain at Millennium Square. New for 2024 is the addition of Call Lane, which will add a new dynamic to the day and see several more of the city’s most popular bars join in the fun.

Of course, Leeds Pride would be nothing without an incredible line-up of DJs, drag queens, fabulous entertainment, and the infamous parade. A series of pre-Pride events leading up to the big day are also currently in the pipeline. Watch this space for announcements to follow.

On top of being one of the city’s hottest parties, Leeds Pride is also a commercial hotbed of opportunity for businesses of all shapes and sizes. And, it’s not just local businesses and independent vendors getting in on the action, national brands, charities and large organisations reach out on an annual basis to help celebrate this important social celebration.

Defined by a strong community-driven spirit, Leeds Pride is run by a team of skilled and dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure the event remains completely free for all who wish to attend. This is only possible through the team's solid fundraising and sponsorship outreach which allows the event to achieve the high level of quality attendees have come to expect.

Leeds Pride now attracts people from all over the UK and overseas and is one of the highlights of the city’s busy summer events schedule. A record 70,000 people are expected to ascend upon the city this year, which will make it Yorkshire’s most prolific free event.

Leeds Pride spokesperson, Terry George said:

“It's fantastic that Leeds now hosts one of the largest free Pride's in the country, attracting thousands of attendees from all over the UK. The event has seen unprecedented growth since the first official Leeds Pride in 2006, and we can't wait for this year's event to come back bigger than ever. The colourful, fun-filled event provides the perfect place to unite everyone from all backgrounds and celebrate our diverse community.”
